I started a quilt in April. The project stalled because I did not have access to a space suitable enough to assemble the "sandwich" in Florida. The community center where I would have gone for the nice long tables was closed due to the pandemic. Then of course there was the detached retina.
My vision is not back to normal yet. If I have both eyes open, everything is wavy. It makes it very difficult to thread a needle or to sew a straight line. An eye patch straightens out things I know are supposed to be straight but does little for depth perception needed for needle threading.
Have I ever mentioned my stubborn streak? I was determined to finish that quilt anyway. So I did.
Looks very nice. Sorry to hear about your vision not being good. Hope things get sorted out soon. Typo in your heading. It needs a T.
ReplyDeleteWell done! I'm always impressed with anyone who can quilt, it's something I have neither the talent nor patience for, but to do it with one's eyes not behaving is even more incredible.
ReplyDeleteIt is a great achievement to finish it. congrats to you!
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like you did a pretty darn good job sewing straight seams and matching corners! Well done!
ReplyDeleteYou are a tough cookie. I can't imagine trying to sew under those conditions. Good for you.
ReplyDeleteWow, impressed with your determination considering your vision problems. Hope that is back to normal soon.
ReplyDelete... and it's kind of a dizzying pattern, too!
ReplyDeleteImpressive with 2 eyes let alone 1. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt!
ReplyDeleteThe contrast, as well as geometric perfection, does make for a complicated project. Where does it go now that it is finished?
