Sweating Glitter

I was looking forward to my grandson's visit this week. Well he will still arrive, just not until tomorrow. He was at camp all last week. My daughter said he needed to rest but I think she really needed more time to get laundry done.

I remember the laundry after a boy's camping trip.

So I spent the day making. I made two more shopping bags.

I put a pocket inside this one and it's lined with a heavy muslin fabric.

I made another blue one with a quilt square pocket on the outside, but Don said,
"If you're giving them away, I'll take that one." Another convert to cloth shopping bags so that's a good thing.

I have also been making some cards over the past week:

I find myself getting simpler instead of more complex with cards, cutting back on the glitter and bling.

One of my friends has a sign in her craft room:

**I craft so much I sweat glitter.**

We have been having beautiful weather here.  I had a nearly perfect walk yesterday and it is just as nice today. I did my yoga on the deck and now it's time for another walk.  I will adjust to a different kind of activity when my grandson comes, but it will be good. More time outdoors if the weather holds.

    1. Haha. Why yes -- just send me cash directly and I will gladly not send your desired items next Tuesday.
I was going to suggest you make your own cushions in commenting on your blog, but then I thought better of it.

  7. Goodness! You are so creative, Olga. These are beautiful, both bag and cards. I'm afraid I've collected too many cloth type bags since Hawaii has done away with plastic bags (which is a good things since our beaches are getting littered with tiny micro plastics).

  8. You are so fortunate to have the vision to continue crafting and sewing. I miss doing those now. Great bag ideas.

It's TIme

It's been a while since I have posted anything and even my reading your posts is falling by the wayside. I am in Florida now. I have a yard where little attention was spent on landscaping for the past years so I am slowly and (somewhat) methodically addressing that. I also volunteer to work at the pollinator garden and the edible garden I helped install at the UU grounds and I took over the volunteer job of cleaning out the overgrown community garden by my neighborhood mailboxes. The neighbor who was doing that got sick and could no longer attend to it. It's a bigger job than I'd thought at first -- not only overgrown with weeds, but the plants that are wanted there are in life and death competition for each others' spaces. And two walks a day, morning and evening, so Levi can keep up with addiction to canine social media and a daily rousing came of stick or ball midday take up another chunk of my time. I have a weekly meditation group that I co-facilitate, and my own ...

Life Goes On

There is nothing like a visit from the grand children to remind one that life goes on.  I spent Friday night at my daughter's and then brought the kids back home with me.  I did not get to see so much of them this past summer and it was a birthday gift to my daughter (who just turned 40!) to have a couple of days to herself. She probably spent them in her son's room playing Lego StarWars.  Dane tried to teach me how to play this video game--a hopeless task if ever there was one.  "Concentrate, Grandma!  You have to concentrate!"  I do have a hard time with sustained concentration lately, but in this case I had no clue what it was that needed concentration.  He finally took the controls away from me (thank-you!). It's amazing how long he can amuse himself at my house being out side on a scooter or helping me in the yard, especially if it involves a hose.  Inside, they both sit and draw or craft for hours.  Just before bed, Dane did say, "N...

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Okay, Linda Reeder .  Okay, Arkansas Patti .  Yours is NOT a club I wanted to join.  But I did anyway. Bike meets car; face meets pavement.  Olga meets EMTs, gets ride to ER, meets nurses, doctors and X-ray technicians, and friendly police officer who issues a citation for negligent bike riding.  Not pretty.  So very not pretty. Are you ready for this? Yes. I was wearing my helmet. Plenty of bruises and swellings, but no broken bones, no concussion.   I will take it easy for the next few days, but first order of business is to go out and purchase purple eye shadow.
