I flew to Venice, Florida this morning -- up at 4 a.m. and in the sunshine by noon. two of my friends were there to pick me up and we went out for lunch.
I was concerned about how the airport time would go. I have to say that going through the TSA checks was unusually pleasant. Those men and women who are currently working without pay were polite, cheerful and sociable. They were not taking any frustration out on passengers.
By the same token, passengers seemed on unusually good behavior as well.
That's good to hear. I think most of us are commiserating with furloughed and unpaid federal workers.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good experience. Funny how Americans seem to pull together only when faced with hardships.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the warm weather!! Green with envy
ReplyDeleteI think I would want to thank them for their service. It's hard to work for nothing and still be chipper. Way to go guys.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got out of the North before that big snow grounded everything. Nice to hear the TSA is holding on. Bless their hearts. So unfair. I hope there is new legislation after this that outlaws working for no pay. Oh wait There is...except for Gov employees
ReplyDeleteWell, enjoy your stay in Florida. I am glad you had a good experience with the TSA.
ReplyDeleteGood times in the warmth are ahead for you! We have snow to shovel...
ReplyDeleteI feel so badly for the good people in your country.
Oh awesome! That's a relief. TSA have been really nice in Hawaii, but I don't know how things are since the shutdown.
ReplyDeleteI flew home from the Newark airport on Friday, and found the same thing. The TSA folks were friendly and there were no lengthy delays in security. Those who are furloughed or working without pay truly do deserve our thanks and appreciation.
