We got back to Vermont to find a lawn badly in need of mowing, a garden badly in need of weeding, and a number of small trees downed over a serious set of tire tracks in the corner of the front yard. There were a few broken bits of a vehicle, but we really have no clue yet as to details.
This is the second time this has happened. A few years ago we woke to find a small pickup truck hung up in a tree in this same spot. There were more trees there then so that vehicle didn't get so far.
We had a safe trip back, and for that I am grateful.
What a mess to come home to. Hate to take time to clean up what others create. Sorry, I hope you summer gets better.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got home, from your little holiday.
ReplyDeleteSorry you found what you did.
Do you report it to the police, and let their labs, go to work on the who-did-it part?
Happy Midsummer's Eve

Good grief, are you an a hairy curve or something? Think you need to put some concrete barriers up. That mighty slow them down.
ReplyDeleteGot the feeling it was not a sober soul.
"There were more trees there then..."
ReplyDeleteIf this keeps up, you won't have any trees there!
Did the bits of vehicle show any clue of color, at least? I wonder if the vehicle got out under its own power or had to be towed...?
Such a mystery!
Maybe it's time to put a few big boulders there!
That is not a nice thing to come home to. I hate that people do that. We had someone plow through our fence a few years ago. I woke to see a car in my backyard. By the time I got downstairs, the car was gone. The fence was a few months old and cost $600 to fix. Grrrr.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you need some big boulders on the property.
Ah! So this is the original evidence of chicanery. It's all very Scooby Doo.
