Sadness

 The phone rings. I don't recognize the number and assume it is just another robocall. But later I see that there is message so I listen."This is Diane's daughter. Can you give me a call back." This is immediate cause for worry. Oh, no. Diane must be sick. maybe even in the hospital? I call back with trepidation.

But . . .

Never would I have thought it could be that my friend had died unexpectedly. My friend who was so full of life, so active, so very vital, strong, and health conscious.

My heart aches in the realization that she is not in this world now. Perhaps it is that she is in a better world and with the love of her life, but I still will miss her terribly.

    Oh gosh! I'm so sorry, Olga. It's awful to lose a good friend. I lost a good friend last year and every time I look at her picture, it feel the loss. I'm sending you hugs from Hawaii.

    Oh how heartbreaking for you, the one who is left behind to miss your dear friend. An unexpected death is such a shock, my husband died unexpectedly six years ago. Take care of yourself in the days ahead.

 On September 29, I had the closing on my condo. Everything that was not going to the buyers was out and packed in the ABF moving truck which had by the been taken over to the storage units. Don thought it would take him until Wednesday to finish packing the truck with the help of his son. It took him until late Thursday with Chris' help and mine. Kevin was supposed to help load as well but he was in a mountain bike accident and wrecked his shoulder the week before. That added driving him to doctor appointments to my to do list and dong some shopping for him plus jobs around the house that might need two functioning upper limbs.  We stayed with Kevin on Friday night after the closing and then had a suite in an extended stay place for the coming week. This was the worst possible time to have to get a room because the prices balloon during leaf peeping season if you can even find a room at all. It's TIme

 It's been a while since I have posted anything and even my reading your posts is falling by the wayside. I am in Florida now. I have a yard where little attention was spent on landscaping for the past years so I am slowly and (somewhat) methodically addressing that. I also volunteer to work at the pollinator garden and the edible garden I helped install at the UU grounds and I took over the volunteer job of cleaning out the overgrown community garden by my neighborhood mailboxes. The neighbor who was doing that got sick and could no longer attend to it. It's a bigger job than I'd thought at first -- not only overgrown with weeds, but the plants that are wanted there are in life and death competition for each others' spaces. And two walks a day, morning and evening, so Levi can keep up with addiction to canine social media and a daily rousing came of stick or ball midday take up another chunk of my time. I have a weekly meditation group that I co-facilitate, and my own

Wedding

 Don and I drove to South Carolina to attend the wedding of my step-grandson, Will. Will Will and Katie The wedding took place on Dataw Island, a beautiful outdoor ceremony followed by a reception in the country club. We stayed in a tiny cottage in the historic center of Beaufort, rented from Vrbo. Since the wedding was at 5 p.m., we had time to explore the area a bit. I really like the low country scenery and historical charm. Sitting quietly in the curtained gazebo I was visited by multiple cardinals. They came to visit the feeder, not me, but I can always pretend! How I will always remember Will!
