Don't Tell ME What to Do!

New Orleans was hit by another hurricane. Louisiana's governor was on the news urging everyone to not go out into high winds and flooded streets, flying debris and downed power lines.

Well.

How dare she impose such restrictions on people? We have RIGHTS to our individual freedoms.

  3. Sigh… What can you do? Here in Hawaii, there are rescues of people who insist on going out despite warnings of high surf. There are people who are just reckless or uncaring about the personnel they put in danger who have to rescue them.

    1. Dear Kay, back when Katrina hit, i recall hearing about a 50-some man in the surf. Here turned out, he had been a Navy Seal, and he wanted to know if he could still handle the storm. Yeah i know, his afternoon swim caused quite a stir, but hats off to the guy ... what a man. Wahoo :) :) :)

  4. Isn't it amazing how Mark Twain's comments are always right on the mark, more than 100 years after he wrote them.

  5. Sue, Exactly the kind of idiot Mark Twain speaks of -- No thought for the potential danger he might put others in (rescue/emergency responders) just a selfish desire to stroke his own ego.

  6. Dear Olga, if Mark Twain truely hated and scoffed at the Lord's authority, then he's a real idiot. Yikes, don't be that guy :0

  7. I don't know what to say when I read the comments on your post. Oh, well, such is life. I do hope things get better in Louisiana. We saw the terrible images on TV news yesterday.
