Reflection on Aging

Having recently had a birthday*, I have been reflecting on aging.

My memorabilia precedes the '70s but otherwise I like the sentiment

My guess would be pretty darn old, Calvin.

This is more rude than funny.

Some things can just make you feel old.

Like learning to use your new computer -- that makes me feel old and useless!

The irony of it is:

Might as well just embrace it!

* 73 if you are curious

  1. Oh to be 73 again. Hope it was a fun day with lots of smiles.
Loved the funnies. Me too pleased to enjoy my childhood punishments and the "fall down" responses are so true.

  3. Happy Birthday Olga!

The last meme is the best, life is great - and far better than the alternative.

  4. Well happy belated birthday.
I am old and I hate it.
People say it's great. I haven't found the great yet. When does that kick in?

  9. Happy belated birthday! My hubby will be 70 in two weeks. Funny but he looks like the same handsome tall young man I married 45 years ago. Only a little grayer. - Old is only a number!

  10. I liked the Rude one best. It's True tho', we're raising our Granddaughter who is 15 now and when she trips she and I giggle, but if I trip she's rushing to keep me from falling. Since, a Friend of mine who Retired from the M.E.'s office once told me that after breaking a Hip, 90% of people Die within 6 Months! Just WOW... and of coarse falls are what usually causes that injury, I'm always glad, if I take a Senior Fall, if at least that part of me doesn't break!

  11. Happy Birthday!

I am 68 and am currently left feeling much older than that. I was forced to get a new phone recently, and I am still trying to learn how to use it and remember each time what I have to do to use it. This new phone is super thin and very slick. I can't hardly hold onto it without touching some button on the side. The edges of the phone are kind of sharp edged and dig into my finger joints at the end knuckles where every single finger is swollen and sensitive to pressure of sharp edges. So far I have not developed a love/hate relationship with this phone. I am still in the hate/hate stage. I was forced to give up my little old cheap flip-close Trac phone because of the obsolescence of the 3 G electronics and the forced change over to 5 g products. I need a phone that a slow monkey could pick up and use, not this sharp edged new fangled object that everyone else has been using for years now. Now I have to think of someone else tonight that I can telephone instead of email, so I can practice using my new phone. Pitiful--just pitiful.
