I had my wellness visit today. I am not 100% healthy -- blood pressure is sometimes high and kidney function slightly off so I am going on the DASH diet.
But I am most happy to report that I passed the person, woman, man, camera, TV test, or at least a version thereof and my doctor pronounced me not demented.

Dietary approaches to stop hypertension. Lots of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, fish and lean meat. Low fat and dairy products. No salt or added sugars. No processed foods.
DeleteAnd plenty of fluids for the kidneys. (Non alcoholic fluids that would mean)
I think we could all benefit from that diet...
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I think I eat a mostly DASH without even knowing it ... except the added sugar part. (I think I've read that too much sugar makes you stoopid though, so mebbe I'd better cut back.)
ReplyDeleteMy blood pressure is hard to control, but with the anxiety of my cough and the anxiety of COVID I am glad I am still working through it.
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so happy for you. We have not been to the doctor in over a year. Once we both get our 2nd vaccination, we shall get ourselves over to the hospital, the optometrist, the dentist, etc.
