If I cast my mind all the way back to the beginning of the year, I recall that I was having high hopes for 2020. Almost all of the things I had planned continue to be falling apart.
So good to see that smile!
Before all the lockdowns, though, my son was able to make his planned visit. It seems so long ago, but we had such a great time together. He only had a long weekend but we managed to pack it with hiking in at the Mabry Carlton Preserve,
biking along the Intracoastal Waterway, a kayak trip through Sarasota Bay, good seafood meals, a visit to Historic Spanish Point and a trip to the beach to catch the sunsets in the evenings. It was wonderful just to have him here, but I always appreciate having someone to play with too.

ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome young man, Olga. It’s so wonderful that you had that time together before the lock down. I was fortunate in being able to see my granddaughter dance in Illinois too as well as celebrate my Maryland grandson’s birthday in December. And yet, I’m so sad that my uncle wasn’t able to celebrate his 100th birthday in March. He had so been looking forward to it.

ReplyDeleteI see that everyone has already said what a handsome man your son is. I agree! I don't see my son nearly enough either. I should do something about that. It's good that you could be so active together.
