It warmed up and rained. All the snow that was hanging around since early November is gone. Now people are all worried -- will we not have a white l Christmas?

Personally, I would like to see a white car. I hate that slush covered look both inside and outside of my car.

I put my Santas on the mantle. I have some lights in the windows. I have decided I will not bother to put up the tree this year.

I used to have an android phone that would automatically upload my photos to my MacBook Air. Now I have an iphone so you wouldn't think it would be a problem, but you'd be wrong. I cannot get my iphone and my MacBook to acknowledge each other's existence. Annoying!

I need to sit down with my grandson and have him teach me how to use my stupid phone.

I finally got around to reading Michelle Obama's book, Becoming. I miss the Obamas SO much.

I doubt that Trump will be removed from office although I definitely think he should be. He is a very damaged individual. That makes him dangerous. I simply cannot fathom what his supporters are thinking and I am usually pretty good at seeing both sides. This has me stumped. All I see is irony. Like Melania with her anti-bully campaign -- ultimate irony.

  1. Irony is hard and hot and not to be dealt with lightly. I have Michelle's book as an e-book, but not yet read.

  2. I agree completely. How she can be married to him. How people I know and like can support him. I just find it all baffling.

  3. The photos transfer through iCloud. I would assume a Mac book is hooked up to the iCloud, but that's what to check.
I thought Michelle's book was good, not great. I guess I wanted more.
Irony is too nice a word.

  4. what? not in Florida this year?
Curious you leaving Android to go to iPhone. I never hear anything positive about the iPhone except it's very expensive. I hope you getting working soon. I know how frustrating technology is! I too don't think they will toss the orange bastard. And we wonder why kids think they can behave badly? Our leaders do. No one does the right thing anymore.

  5. I wonder how my family members and some friends can just turn blind eyes to the man. They see no wrong. Do we have better vision?

    1. Obviously we do have better vision (and I need cataract surgery).

  6. I don't think Trump will be removed from office, because there aren't enough votes to get rid of him. Boy, how does he manage to get up to go to work? If I were him, I would have quit my job by now. Too stressful for me.

  7. He (and several of the Democratic contenders) are retirement age. I cannot imagine why they all want such a stressful job at this stage of life. Or any time really, but somebody has to do it.

  8. I'd happily send you some snow and cold if I could.

As for Trump, as a Canadian I probably have no right to chime in, but he is darn right scary. It is so difficult to understand how anyone sees him as anything other than corrupt and self serving.

  9. I’m so used to the PC that when I bought a MacBook Air, I just couldn’t get used to it. My son-in-law finally said I might as well give up and loaded a windows program on it. My son, on the other hand, thinks I should have tried harder to understand it the apple program. Sigh....

  10. And as for Trump...
Can you believe he would attack Greta Thunberg because she got on the Time cover? He is such a childish bully!

Updates

On September 29, I had the closing on my condo. Everything that was not going to the buyers was out and packed in the ABF moving truck which had by the been taken over to the storage units. Don thought it would take him until Wednesday to finish packing the truck with the help of his son. It took him until late Thursday with Chris' help and mine. Kevin was supposed to help load as well but he was in a mountain bike accident and wrecked his shoulder the week before. That added driving him to doctor appointments to my to do list and dong some shopping for him plus jobs around the house that might need two functioning upper limbs.  We stayed with Kevin on Friday night after the closing and then had a suite in an extended stay place for the coming week. This was the worst possible time to have to get a room because the prices balloon during leaf peeping season if you can even find a room at all. But it was close to the storage units where we were working and it was dog friendly. We ju

Wedding

Don and I drove to South Carolina to attend the wedding of my step-grandson, Will. Will Will and Katie The wedding took place on Dataw Island, a beautiful outdoor ceremony followed by a reception in the country club. We stayed in a tiny cottage in the historic center of Beaufort, rented from Vrbo. Since the wedding was at 5 p.m., we had time to explore the area a bit. I really like the low country scenery and historical charm. Sitting quietly in the curtained gazebo I was visited by multiple cardinals. They came to visit the feeder, not me, but I can always pretend! How I will always remember Will!

Rest In Peace

In a summer that has been so wet, Sunday was a reprieve. The humidity dropped and the sun came out. It was a day that could have been special ordered by the family of a friend's husband. It was the day they had arranged his celebration of life ceremony set on the shore of Lake Champlain. I was not looking forward to the gathering, even couched as a celebration. This is a family fraught with relationship tensions. It turned out to be a beautiful day and a beautiful ceremony. A Catholic priest gave a brief but meaningful homily and two Air Force members played "Taps" and presented the American flag to my friend. I am not a Christian, but I do know about Christ Consciousness. That priest's word's filled me with such a sense of peace and love. I hope it did the same for the family members and neighbors who attended.
