I have returned to Vermont and have spent a couple days trying to remember where I put things. I spent ten minutes looking for my butter dish before I spied it right there on the kitchen counter. I had been looking for the butter dish that I have in Florida and didn't recognize the Vermont butter dish.
I know. I know. Of all the problems one can have in life, that is right down there with the lowest level of most minor.
I so enjoy your blog, you are positive and kind, no one wants to read misery in the lovely spring, hot summer, lovely autumn and cold and snowy winter no one..I want to go to Vermont some day, we live in Washington state it is nice but usually only two weathers here scorching hot and cold and raining, most people complain I say nothing can be done about the weather but you can temper your thoughts each and everyday..I love my butter dish only have had it for about 50 years of my soon 70 the birthday, my granny gave it to me as a youngster and I treasure it I would be upset if I did not use each and everyday, I kept in a box for when I could join her when I was 18 and loved and used it everyday..Have a most wonderful week, ,peace, love and joy sent to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Yes, that's not a bad problem to have.
ReplyDeleteYour story reminds me of my parents move from the farm to the small town nearby. My cousins, sister, and I helped with the unpacking at the new house. We asked mom where she wanted things and she gave us a general idea, but complained that it took her nearly 6 months to find everything. (The kitchen wasn't that big!)
Glad you made it back north safe and sound. Enjoy your time there!
Eileen
It's important if you need a butter dish!
ReplyDeleteThat's why I could never have a winter home in Florida -- I'd never be able to remember what is where. (Plus, I can't afford it, but that's another issue.)
ReplyDeleteWelcome back north. I live in a world of missing things. As my wife says, if I look for something and it doesn't drop into my hand, like manna from heaven, it is irrevocably lost forever. The world is a mysterious place where things seem to disappear and reappear at will. A place for everything and nothing in its place is my motto. Quick, get it out of your hand before it burns you!
ReplyDeleteLosing things and turning green lights red seem to be my superpower.
I can honestly say that a butter dish is not something I have had trouble finding. I don't have one. But I sure do it with many otger things
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you just keep the empty butter dish in the fridge? That's what I do. Lol.
ReplyDeleteMay all your problems be of a similar size. Wouldn't that be wonderful? Another plus is that you got in an unscheduled 10 minutes of exercise.
ReplyDelete"Of all the problems one can have in life, that is right down there with the lowest level of most minor." Ah, but a funny one!!! Good to know I am not alone.
ReplyDeleteYour story reminds me. To take something i will go near the refrigerator, suddenly i feel black like for what i came here.:)
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain. I am always losing something that is either on my head (glasses) or in my hand (phone).
