I feel as though I have been on vacation for the past week. My gentleman friend from Vermont was here for a visit for his vacation and so we were doing vacation things. It was his first visit to Florida.
We were lucky to get tickets to a spring training game between the NY Yankees and the Tampa Rays. Spring training was coming to an end so it was definitely not the A Teams out there, but it was fun to be in the crowd
Don is not a big beach lover, but you can't come to Florida and just tour Harley dealers! We did stop at some Harley dealers . . . four I think . . . but the beach makes a better picture.
We saw one alligator that was being very aggressive, slapping his tail and chasing other alligators out of his territory. I'm guessing the one he let stay was a female and he was going to take advantage of mating season.
It's a good place to take some sun without getting covered with sand.
We went out to eat and out to listen to music. We spent one evening on the beach for the sunset drum circle. I didn't have my camera for that, but I did find an older YouTube video. There were many more drummers there when we went and the sunset was spectacular.
That does seem like a special time when a friend comes by.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to do tourist stuff with an out-of-towner.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great time. It is so much fun to play tourist where you live. I had to laugh at visiting 4 Harley stores. :-)
ReplyDeleteSounds just wonderful. Hopefully he enjoyed it as much as I did reading about it. You are blessed to live in such a great place with so much to see. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun. You have a nice environment -- not urbanized at all.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful week. Love the photos of the water. I missed seeing an alligator when I was in Florida, though I did look for them.
ReplyDeleteMost of all I miss the warm temps.

Sometimes when we show familiar things to new eyes, we see them differently also. Did you get to see Stanton at the game? I sure miss him as a Marlin and hope he does well as a Yankee. Myakka is a favorite place of mine also. Sounds like you a great time.
ReplyDeleteWow, sounds as though a great time was had by both of you . . . and I hope he likes Florida!.
ReplyDeleteVacation indeed. I have not been to FL since 1989. Perhaps I ought to revisit> we were to go last year, even had tickets to fly but Irma arrive just at that time so we opted gto get a refund.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you have Don in your life!
