So I made it through one day of the diet cleanse.
- A bowl of berries and melon and lemon water for breakfast
- A lettuce, kale, carrot, onion, beet salad for lunch
- A lettuce, spinach, asparagus, cucumber, and avocado salad for dinner
- Apple slices for a snack
- Herbal tea
- Lots of water
So far I have learned that:
- I must tend to bolt my food down because meals are taking much longer. Salads of raw vegetables take a lot of chewing!
- I am thankful for beets and avocados because they give me the feeling that I have actually eaten something substantial. I think it is about the mouth feel.
- Eating slowly and mindfully does work as far as making me feel full though.
- I don't miss my morning cup of coffee.
- I do miss my dessert glass of wine with a taste of chocolate to go with it.
- I can do this (because I am stubborn).
I would think day 1 would be the hardest, so...well done. I predict you will feel better when done.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine doing that for over a week though.
Good luck with your new diet. Knowing my own metabolism, that diet would tear up my stomach. I do eat all those things, but not all together. I love avocados!
ReplyDeleteBasically sounds like my diet every day except I do drink herbal teas and decaffeinated coffee and sometimes a glass of wine with dinner. Good Luck! Whole plant foods are a healthy way to eat.
ReplyDeleteHope your GERD will go away.
ReplyDeleteWow, people think my eating is extreme.
I did eat a whole avocado today, yesterday and the day before yesterday. And I plan to eat one avocado everyday.
Goodluck with your food adventure.
ReplyDeleteIt's cold here and i would want hot cooked food. Also I did 45 minutes of stretching exercises, went grocery shopping, walked 3.25 miles and worked outside in the cold wind for two hours so that food would leave me hangry. :-)
I like the food in your diet and admire you for sticking to it; I would want a bit more food. Avocado is delish in salads and would make them more satisfying, I agree.
ReplyDeleteYour supper salad looks good. Well done for day one. I hope you can isolate what is causing the problem, besides the current political situation.
ReplyDeleteOh Olga when I did this I said the exact things. Especially number 6. This made me chuckle. Thanks for the morning giggle.
ReplyDeleteThe most difficult thing for me is slowing down my eating. I try to take at least 20 minutes to complete a meal.
ReplyDeleteMmmm, I love beets and avocados, but don't think I could make it without my morning cup of Joe. Anyway ... good luck with the plan and I'd bet dollars to donuts (sorry to bring up the subject of donuts) that it works out well for you! P. S. I'm posting my own diet on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteI eat like this for lunch every day but have not been able to do it for dinner yet. I feel like I am starving if I try. Best of luck to you. It will get easier with each day. At least that is what I hear.
