Recently it got to the point where the most frequent communication to me on FaceBook was, "Just got another friend request from you. Change your password, you've been hacked." I know it happens, but three times in six weeks. I simply have run out of ideas for passwords.
I closed my Facebook account.
And you know what? It's nice to go out for a morning walk or a bike ride instead of being glued to the computer screen.
I am also running out of steam for blog posts. So, time for a vacation. I will check in on my reading list from time to time and maybe post on my Act 3 blog.
Perhaps I will start getting out more and find something worth blogging about here eventually.

As the weather here gets warmer and the colors begin to pop, I too am ready for a break from cyber space. However I cannot abandon my Question Of The Week on Mondays. I love the responses too much:-)
ReplyDeleteI only got hacked once on facebook, and it was a pain, but then I only go to facebook once or twice a week. I just don't get the attraction any more than that. Anyway, enjoy your time off ... and hopefully you'll be back before too long.
ReplyDeleteSometimes cutting the digital umbilical cord is a blessing. I have never been able to do it for long. Enjoy the peace and hope you will be back soon.
ReplyDeleteI am too tied to my screens also. I do feel myself wanting to cut back from so much FB time. I just scam most of what's there now.
ReplyDeleteI seem to be slowing down on blogging too, posting only a few times a week. I sure don't want to lose you completely though. Please come back and visit now and then.
A break from blogging now and then can be good. I soured on FB long ago -- almost right after it started. Enjoy your time away, or just blog erratically. Where is it written people need to post regularly on some schedule?
ReplyDeleteOlga, I hear what you are saying. I get tired of FB too, and have been cutting back, but I don't want to lose you either. Blogging has been something I just haven't kept up on. I do enjoy it, but I just don't have time. Enjoy your time finding new subject to write about. I will look for something on your other blog soon. ;) Stay in touch.
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteMost of the time each and everyone of us get to be so addicted to the products of the modern technology. Although it contributed a lot of convenience in our lives on a daily basis, it is still important for us to pause and appreciate the real nature and environment that surrounds us.
I find it saddening that most people especially the kids are very much immersed to their gadgets.
I am glad that you are finding less sreen time is useful. I have had no keen interest on Facebook and just yesterday I deleted my LinkIn as I was tired of the 'Do you know ..?"
ReplyDeleteI feel digital media has become too controlling. Even a Google search is noe annoying as it limits me to my local area and adds ads I have no use for.
Thanks for visiting my recent post. Mine are not scheduled anylonger. I totally understand your thoughts on this.
I agree with all of you. I hardly ever check into my Facebook - might as well close it. Also, out of blogging ideas for posts after about ten years. Maybe it's just that being older means more boring health problems. What's happened to Sextant? Is he also bored? I will still look for you, Olga.
