New Furnace

The new furnace is being installed, and a new hot water tank.


This is a smaller system so some space has opened up in the basement.  It should be much more efficient as well, which is the important thing.

Now to get someone working on installing a new water treatment system so the hot water tank does not clog up again right away.

I am looking forward to the convenience of hot water gushing out of my taps.

    There is nothing like the gush of hot water when you open the H tap. It is the plumbing version of love.

    I bet you miss hot water. How long will the installation take? I bet you'll see lower heating bills too. Hope everything is back in working order soon.

    When we moved to a house that has a well, I thought ... great, free water! Boy, did I have a few things to learn. We just spent $1600 for a bunch of new equipment in our basement ... and I don't even know what the heck it all does! (But we have better water pressure now, and the shower gets hot faster.)

    Wow! It seems like you had some pretty neat upgrades on the heater. Not only did you manage to save a lot of space on that one. You are also on the verge of having hot water coming out of your tap. Anyway, I hope things are doing better for you now. Thanks for sharing that! All the best!

    It seems like having this kind of furnace will help save a lot of space. Well, it’s good to know that you finally get to install a new furnace in your home.     As a single, non-mechanically inclined 20-year-old woman living by herself, I know how frustrating it can be during the cold months when your warming sources won’t work. There is absolutely nothing I hate worse than being cold. On the other hand, there are few things I love better than a company that will deliver, install, and continuously maintain a quality warming product.

I have a yard where little attention was spent on landscaping for the past years so I am slowly and (somewhat) methodically addressing that. Life Goes On

There is nothing like a visit from the grand children to remind one that life goes on.  I spent Friday night at my daughter's and then brought the kids back home with me.  I did not get to see so much of them this past summer and it was a birthday gift to my daughter (who just turned 40!) to have a couple of days to herself. She probably spent them in her son's room playing Lego StarWars.  Dane tried to teach me how to play this video game--a hopeless task if ever there was one.  "Concentrate, Grandma!  You have to concentrate!"  I do have a hard time with sustained concentration lately, but in this case I had no clue what it was that needed concentration.  He finally took the controls away from me (thank-you!). Monkey See, Monkey Do

Okay, Linda Reeder .  Okay, Arkansas Patti .  Yours is NOT a club I wanted to join.  But I did anyway. Bike meets car; face meets pavement.  Olga meets EMTs, gets ride to ER, meets nurses, doctors and X-ray technicians, and friendly police officer who issues a citation for negligent bike riding.  Not pretty.  So very not pretty. Are you ready for this? Yes. I was wearing my helmet. Plenty of bruises and swellings, but no broken bones, no concussion.   I will take it easy for the next few days, but first order of business is to go out and purchase purple eye shadow.
