Cards

I have missed making cards over the winter.
 Since I airlines give a weight limit, I did not drag supplies to Florida.  So it was fun to get together for a playdate with my card making friends.  The idea for the sea gull card was stolen from Donna.

This is my creation,

as is this.

I made the last card the next day.  I used stamps and gelatos for the water color effect.  Gelatos are a new toy for me.  They were great fun to use and I want to do more experimenting with them.

I did the cards, I went to a poetry reading, I went to a long restorative yogi/Reiki class which also featured aroma therapy.  It was a full weekend.  Today I have library volunteer time and the poetry workshop tonight.  Tomorrow I am going with friends to a story reading at the Renegade Writers in Burlington.  Then I am having a visit from the grand kids.  I needed the restorative yoga because I feel so pressed for time!

    Those cards are very pretty. You certainly fill those days with all kinds of fun activities. As for me, I have quit hula as well as Pen Women. Too much of a hassle to attend, and I am too busy renovating my house. Cheers!

    Interesting how different your Fl activities are from your Vt ones. It is like you have two different lives. How neat.

    Your cards are beautiful. I especially like the last one done with the gelatos. A lovely simplicity there, that appeal to the eye.

    I can see why you feel pressed for time -- you have a crazy busy schedule! I had never heard of those gelatos -- I think Amara would love them! She has a birthday coming up....

      The gelatos are really fun to use and I think they give a lovely watercolor effect. I found them on Amazon.

 It's been a while since I have posted anything and even my reading your posts is falling by the wayside. I am in Florida now. I have a yard where little attention was spent on landscaping for the past years so I am slowly and (somewhat) methodically addressing that. I also volunteer to work at the pollinator garden and the edible garden I helped install at the UU grounds and I took over the volunteer job of cleaning out the overgrown community garden by my neighborhood mailboxes. Walking

 I have always been a walker. Now that I have a high energy dog there is no excuse for not getting out there. And the weather is not an interfering factor here. Early morning and early evening are our preferred times so even when it gets hot we should be okay. We can get quite a long walk going around the neighborhood, greeting neighbors out working in their yards or walking their own dogs. But the landscape changes quickly just beyond the confines of the housing developments. It could be described as natural Florida or as sites of future housing developments. I do prefer the first option. And I really enjoy being out in natural areas so I often opt to head to a nature setting. I would have liked to put a picture here. Unfortunately my iPhone has made a unilateral decision. It will no longer be sending my photos to my computer. Why? I have no idea. Wedding

 Don and I drove to South Carolina to attend the wedding of my step-grandson, Will. Will Will and Katie The wedding took place on Dataw Island, a beautiful outdoor ceremony followed by a reception in the country club. We stayed in a tiny cottage in the historic center of Beaufort, rented from Vrbo. Since the wedding was at 5 p.m., we had time to explore the area a bit. I really like the low country scenery and historical charm. Sitting quietly in the curtained gazebo I was visited by multiple cardinals. They came to visit the feeder, not me, but I can always pretend! How I will always remember Will!
