I was sitting outside and reading when I happened to look up and notice that visitors had come to call.
These two wandered right up close and did not seem at all disturbed when I got up to get the camera. They can have all the insects, creepy crawlies, and grub-like things they want.
Is anyone working on genetically engineering ants to eat garden weeds? That would be a useful thing, I think.
How lovely. You have a great camera, Olga.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds! LOL about the ants!
ReplyDeleteA good goose will eat weeds for you. Then all you have to worry about is goose poop.
ReplyDeleteI love the Sandhill cranes, especially the sound they make as the fly so very high in the sky.
Now - you wouldn't be having those visitors in VT!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a wonderful chance of a life time to get those great photos!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful! They had to make it a special day.
ReplyDeleteLucky you to have such beautiful visitors.
ReplyDeleteWow. I've never seen these creatures in my yard. What a fun visit you had.
ReplyDeleteWow! Very cool!
ReplyDeleteIncredible, the birds are gorgeous. I'd like to find something that would eat the weeds!
ReplyDeleteOh Olga, you know that you are just rubbing in the fact that you can sit outside in Florida while the rest of us are shivering inside our houses from cold:)
ReplyDeleteOh how fun that would be to look up and see those cute cranes and green grass! As I look outside today I see sunshine (Yay!), brown frozen grass, and road salt encrusted streets. It has been and is being a long winter here in St. Louis.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful birds and they're right outside your home? That's too amazing!
ReplyDeleteAnts? We're trying to eradicate fire ants in Hawaii. But weed eating ants would be OK, I think. :-) LOL
