It was a rainy day in my little corner of Florida today.
It rained all day. And I just enjoyed the peacefulness of the patter against the windows. It was a day indoors.
I read some. I wrote some. I did a couple sewing projects. I talked on the phone. I watched a bit of television. I made myself a list of the things I have to do in the coming week, but I did not start on any of them.
My knee is still painful if I bump it (and I bump it often, it seems). There is still a large lump over my left eye and a small one above my lip. The bruises are fading little by little. None of it is painful anymore except for the knee. I apply arnica. A woman I met at the library the other day said she's had cosmetic surgery that left her face quite bruised and her doctor told her to eat fresh pineapple. So I have tried that. It tastes good, if nothing else, and it helps with a feeling of hydration.
My Sunday was a day of rest and recuperation facilitated by the rain.

That sounds like a good day to me. We haven't had rain in a long time, surprisingly, and we need it. We might get some by Tuesday. No snow in the mountains, no rain in the lowlands, forest fires in Oregon. Crazy weather here too.
ReplyDeleteNo rain in the pacific NW? The weather gods have gone crazy!
DeleteIt's Pro Bowl day at Aloha Stadium right now, and it has been raining all afternoon. But, it's still warm in Hawaii, and I think most people watching on the mainland are very envious. Glad you are healing well.
ReplyDeleteFamily and friends from up north have declared the weather a "No-Mention" topic.
DeleteI am glad you are recovering and that you had a nice rainy day to do it! I thought of you this weekend when Amara and I rode our bikes -- I must be careful!
ReplyDeleteDo be careful and wear a helmet. I am glad I can serve as a cautionary tale if nothing else!
DeleteWe had a cloudy day in Tucson on Friday. Seemed just like home in Seattle! I stayed inside all day until the evening, when I went to get the mail. Next morning, sun! We have been here four weeks and have had one day that wasn't sunny. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI know! Dark, cold winters--I hope they are a thing of the past for me.
DeleteI am glad you are on the mend. Sounds like a wonderful Sunday to me. Oh, I would love to hear the sound of rain. We very seldom get any.
ReplyDeleteIt is unusual to have a day where it rains all day here. The other day, while I was out walking, I noticed massive black clouds. Fortunately, I was in front of a friend's place when the drops started because it dumped buckets. Even though I was almost home, I would have been drenched to the bone. In 30 minutes or so it was over and I was on my way.
DeleteI am near Orlando today...predicting rain and we are trying to decide what to do for fun outside in the rain...most of the fun here is very manufactured and expensive.
ReplyDeleteOrlando is a different world entirely. Mike used to go to an antique motorcycle meet in Eustis every spring and I would sometimes ride with him and then head for Mount Dora, a quaint little town with shops and cafes and people watching.
DeleteI envy you so. Oklahoma weather has multiple personality disorder. Yesterday our temps were 60 degrees. This morning it is 9 degrees. Glad you are mending well though it is slow going.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great line--multiple personality disorder. I have lost interest in even watching the weather for a short segment. It is so bizarre.
DeleteI love a good rainy day. They help sooth the Soul. Snowy days? Hmmmm. They tend to give me a back ache. Hope your knee gets to feeling better.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to enjoy a rainy day and then, today, the sun was out and warm breezes were blowing and I enjoyed a walk on the beach.
DeleteI also stayed in all day yesterday, ending by watching the TV-program-I'll never-admit-to-watching (shhhhh ... Downton Abbey ... and I watched two hours, to catch up, b/c for whatever reason the program wasn't on last week where I was staying in Orlando.)
ReplyDeleteYour secret is safe with me...not ksure about anyone else who happens to read my blog and comments.
DeleteSo sorry to hear about your knee -- hope it heals soon. Rain sounds good right now. All of our precipitation has been white!
ReplyDeleteIt is a bruise that only hurts if I bump it. Too bad I am such a klutz!
DeleteSounds like a wonderful way to spend a rainy day! I'll take the rain over the snow that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're healing up from your fall. Hope you're back to as good as new shortly!
I haven't heard that about pineapple, but who knows? Can't hurt, right? I'm so sorry about that bruise. There's a whole lot of blogger friends who seem to be having accidents lately. I hope it heals very quickly, Olga. Take care please.
