The snow fall was much less than predicted. My son and I had no trouble making our way to my sisters and we had a delicious lasagna dinner, were entertained by their two cats, and much admired their ten foot tall tree.
My brother from Burlington, VT, did not make it to mountain. I guess there was actually more snow there (somewhat unusual) and the city streets were slippery. My brother is a wuss driver--just as well, since he is also not a very good driver.
I got out to the post office this afternoon and then put in some time at the library. Then I met my friend Ginnie for supper out and the exchange of our gifts. I like when the Christmas shopping is all wrapped up and all that is left is the social time.
Tomorrow I will host the poetry group...oh, I have some writing to finish up.
I guess I better get on that now.

Oh, I'm not quite finished with my shopping, and still have wrapping to do! But I'm enjoying some social time, too. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good time with your son and sisters. :) I know this is a difficult time but hang in there.
ReplyDeleteI like it when the preparation gives way to the celebrating too. I finished the shopping today. The cookies are baked. The decorating is done. Tomorrow I will begin the wrapping, but I also have a lunch with friends. Last Friday we went to a Christmas brunch. Yesterday we had a little early Christmas with family. Friday we will host a brunch for our breakfast group. And then there will be family activities through Christmas day.
ReplyDeleteWherever you are, whatever you are doing, I hope happiness goes with you and you have peace in your heart. Happy travels.
Nice to hear that you had a wonderful day !!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a lot of fun. Glad you were not impeded by any snow.
ReplyDeleteLittle snow in Vermont?? What is this world coming to? Seriously, glad you have passed the prep time and are ready for enjoyment time. I celebrated early this year in Florida. Hope the rest of your Christmas is heartwarming and comforting.
ReplyDeleteIt is all relative, Patti, but they were predicting up to two feet and that did not happen.
DeleteI so admire you get-up-and-go. Mike would be so proud of his trooper.
ReplyDeleteGood for you ... but there's nuthin' wrong with being a wuss driver (according to this wuss driver).
ReplyDeleteNot at all. It is always wise to know one's limits.
DeleteYou dodged a bullet with the snow. We had about 3 to 4 inches mushed down to an inch of sloppy snow on about a half inch of ice. Got 2 more last night. We have had more snow here since November than we got all of last year.
ReplyDeleteGlad your visit was nice. Ten foot tree! Wow that must have been beautiful. Hope your poetry group goes well.
My sister and brother in law live in a log cabin, perfect for a big tree.
DeleteAlmost done with shopping. Just one item left. Sounds like a good holiday for you!
ReplyDeleteSounds as if you've been quite busy! I'm so glad you got to your sister's, and that things are going well.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Olga! You are so far in front of me -- I am not done shopping, shipping or wrapping -- Or baking! Hope the rest of your week is wonderful and not to cold.
ReplyDeleteIt is only in recent years that I learned to be "done." It is much nicer that way.
DeleteWe are 95% done with our shopping too. It's a wonderful feeling. So glad your snow is pretty and not hazardous.
ReplyDeleteRight now we are getting the kind of snow that swirls around in the air all day but does not seem to accumulate. I think of it as Mary Tyler Moore snow.
