"Don't wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.”
Mark Victor Hansen, of Chicken Soup for the Soul fame
The expression, "grow where you are planted," came to mind when I saw this plant clinging to the side of the Circus Bridge. I looked for that quote on the Internet. It probably predates a Mary Engelbreit card. I am not a particularly religious person and I do not call myself a Christian in any case, but I found this information
worth contemplating and quite apt.
that plant is certainly brave and in Florida it seems plants grow everywhere.
ReplyDeleteSurvival of the fittest. It is amazing where seeds will take hold. Enjoy your 'sunny' weekend!
ReplyDeleteNice find, Olga - the plant perfectly illustrates the quote. I always think: Don't wait for everything to be perfect, just get going and do the best you can.
ReplyDeleteGreat illustration for the quote. We don't need the best conditions, or even the seemingly required conditions to grow.
ReplyDeleteI remember being told that about having children, that you would never have enough money or time. So glad I did not wait!
ReplyDeleteYou have to admire its desire to survive. Makes one think, that we just try hard enough-----
ReplyDeleteGood words to remember. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI like this post.
ReplyDeleteThis and Pauline's, in Writing Down the Words, have set my mood for the morning.
Pretty cool.
It's always amazing how life will make it's way in order to continue. This is a perfect example.
