The bleeding heart and the jonquils were pretty beaten down by the snow so I rescued what was flattened on the ground before a big rain storm turned them to mush. The lily-of-the-valley are starting to bloom. They, like the violets, are more like weeds, but I love the scent and keep a small bunch in the bathroom for their entire season.
They are so sunny and pretty. Perfect symbols of spring.
ReplyDeleteWow, I wish I lived near you. I love flowers in the house but seldom think to buy any. I don't have a yard to grow any.
ReplyDeleteSo glad the snow left you some lovely vase fillers.
ReplyDeleteI probably need to grow some Bleeding Hearts since that is what every one calls me.
Think I'll dust off my vases as the roses are finally blooming. Thanks for the reminder.
It's amazing that they survived the snow so well! Lovely flowers.
ReplyDeleteI love our bleeding hearts too, and violets and lily of the valley! I finally convinced my husband- the gardener- that violets are not a weed! Neither is my mint that is growing like crazy!! -- Lovely pictures!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers. It's so nice to see the results of your hard work in the garden.
