Disturbingly Ugly Shoes

Seriously???!!!???

The always charmingly amusing Margaret Finnegan has posted about ugly shoes.  I would say that these qualify for that designation.

Beyond that--poster child for ending violence against women?  This is surely kin to foot binding, when broken, folded up feet that hobbled women was the ideal.  A helpless women is a sexy woman?  Really, are there still those who believe that?

Wow, proof some women will do anything for style.

I wonder if any were actually sold, or these monstrosities were solely(!) used for marketing purposes. Sure caught our attention!

How awful those shoes look! And, yes, the women in old China did have their feet bound, which prevented them from walking normally.

Foot binding was perpetuated by the women in China, so that their daughters could attract a suitable husband. Women are still torturing themselves for the same reasons. Dumb.

The runways have nothing to do about real life. It's all fantasy. But - are there those who would be tempted to wear these contraptions?

Are the shoes in the top photo on backwards? Just wondering.

Send you kid or grand kid to podiatrist school. His future will be secure even with out those monstrosities. Five inch heels will keep him in business.

It hurts just to look at those poor women. Well said, by the way.

Seriously? I would kill myself if I tried wearing any of those and besides -- they are ugly!

Oh yes! I agree. They do most certainly fall in the category of CRAZY. Ugly is too mild.
